Dear friend,

Congress is on the verge of cutting a terrible deal with Donald Trump to renew NAFTA — and give Big Pharma even more power to gouge you.

Big Pharma rigged NAFTA 2.0 with provisions that would give them a stunning new monopoly on drugs that treat life-threatening diseases such as cancer. We all know what this means: years of even more sky-high prices for essential drugs.1

Americans are mobilizing to stop this terrible deal, and we don't have a lot of time. Reports from Capitol Hill are that a deal is "imminent."2 That's why we're asking you to speak up right now.

Tell Congressional leaders: Do not allow any vote on Trump’s NAFTA 2.0 until and unless his administration fixes it.

There are numerous problems with Trump's new version of NAFTA. The labor and environmental standards in Trump’s NAFTA 2.0 are too weak to stop the big corporations. They can continue to undermine independent unions and threaten environmental activists. The result? Outsourcing U.S. jobs to pay workers in Mexico less per day than their U.S. counterparts make per hour, and poison communities with dumped toxins.

Big Pharma also got their way by using NAFTA 2.0 to lock in high U.S. medicine prices. Then they spent millions of dollars on a lobbying effort to pressure Democrats to support the deal — without eliminating these provisions or adding rules to ensure labor and environmental standards are enforced.

While the nation's attention is on impeachment, Trump and even some Democrats are working overtime to try and negotiate a deal that would pass NAFTA 2.0. We need to put pressure on Congressional leaders at this critical moment. When you sign our petition, it'll automatically get emailed to Speaker Pelosi and other key members of Congress.

Can we count on your help to stop Big Pharma and protect jobs and the environment?

Sign the petition: Tell Congressional leaders to not allow any vote on Trump’s NAFTA 2.0 until and unless his administration fixes it.

Thank you for taking action to stop a Big Pharma giveaway,

Robert and the team at Demand Progress
