Congress Wants to Increase Inflation with More Spending

Early this morning around 1 am, lawmakers on Capitol Hill finalized an almost three-thousand-page spending package or omnibus. Now, nearly twelve hours later, they are poised to vote on it. It’s doubtful that most of Congress have read the bill in its entirety.
While this is problematic, the package has many other issues, drama included! Since the bill $1.5 trillion bill was dropped, some rank-and-file House Democrats have stalled its movement. They successfully stripped all $15 billion allocated to COVID funding because they were unhappy with decreases in funding in some states. The House is now in a race against time to get the legislation passed without COVID funding, a huge blow to the Biden Administration! Democrats also want to sneak out of D.C. as soon as possible since they have a weekend retreat. We are grateful for the delay because the bill contains 2,727 earmarks, which total $4.2 billion!
It also includes the Violence Against Women Act, a bill that contains many harmful provisions. In fact, it’s so divisive, that it struggles to find bipartisan support — hence its inclusion into the omnibus. Among other items, the legislation furthers many Leftist initiatives, like open borders, vaccine mandates, and the funding of Planned Parenthood through Title X funding. Despite this, we are grateful that the legislation includes Hyde Amendment protections.
However, the good does not outweigh the bad and this legislation will surely exacerbate the nation’s inflation! For these reasons, please join us in asking your Representative to vote NO on the Omnibus.
