I’m running for the U.S. Senate in North Carolina because I believe we need to send a fighter to Washington who will put the people first — not polluters. 

As a judge and the first African American woman to serve as Chief Justice of the North Carolina Supreme Court, I’ve seen firsthand how laws made in Washington impact — and too often fail — working families.

That’s never been clearer than right now, with the Senate continuing to block progress on climate change. While saving our homes and way of life, we can create millions of good-paying clean energy jobs, help North Carolinians save $500 per year on their power bills, and almost $1,000 per year at the gas pump.

When I get to Washington, I’ll be a champion for climate, jobs, and justice.

I believe we must run a people-focused campaign that listens to the hopes and needs of every North Carolinian — particularly those who have been left behind and ignored by Washington. We’re talking with voters all over this state — from rural communities to big cities, from the mountains to the coast.

We’re proud of the enthusiasm we have seen and the support we have earned so far. But Mitch McConnell and special interests are spending millions to hold this seat — including one Super PAC that’s already spent $11 million.

So we have to be ready to fight back, John, which is why I’m asking you myself:
