Friend,
The midterm elections are coming up fast, and we have to do more than just block the far right: We have to elect the next generation of progressive candidates who will put working people first.
Our Rooted in Community Leadership PAC is doing just that. We just launched our second annual Campaign School to train, support, and elect women and people of color who are rooted in community.
Two-thirds of this year’s cohort are women, and that’s intentional. We need more women at all levels of government. We’re already closer to equity: Multiple women from last year’s majority-women Campaign School cohort went on to win their elections.
In honor of International Women’s Day and Women’s History Month, let’s invest in a more inclusive democracy. Can you chip in $5 or more today to help us provide expert training, free-of-charge, for candidates who will fight for a government that works for all of us?
We need to build our power if we’re going to make the urgent, bold changes that people need in order to survive and thrive.
And when people who are rooted in their communities serve in office, we bring a sense of urgency for justice that’s often lacking in politics. We know there’s no time to wait for the changes we need.
Like me, the candidates we’re training want to better serve the communities that raised them. To ensure that everyone can join—including low-wealth and working-class people—we’re making this intensive training program free for participants.
But it costs us money to run―to hire local experts in communications, field work, fundraising, and campaign finance to lead trainings for our candidates about how to run a values-driven, progressive campaign.
Can you chip in to help fund our work, so together we can build an inclusive democracy where everyone can thrive?
