Here's the truth, John: keeping Jamaal in Congress is going to be our biggest challenge yet.
There's now three months left until the primary election — and Jamaal has three serious establishment challengers that are threatening to put an end to our movement and the work we've accomplished together so far.
In fact, just last quarter, one of our challengers even maxed out his own campaign, along with giving himself a loan of $37,500. With this month seeing another end-of-quarter deadline at its end, there's no telling what our challengers will do to finance their campaigns this time around.
Meanwhile, Jamaal is an educator who grew up in public housing. He can't afford to write himself five figure checks or call up wealthy friends when his campaign needs an extra boost.
There's no question about it. We have to do everything we can to show that our movement isn't going anywhere — because if we don't step up right now, there's a chance we won't be able to send Jamaal back to Congress to continue fighting for us.
