As the world officially heads into the third year of the COVID-19 pandemic on Friday, March 11, billions of people still don’t have access to vaccines and treatments.
The lack of government action in the face of pharmaceutical monopoly greed continues to cause thousands of avoidable deaths each day. And even as Omicron wanes, ongoing vaccine inequity threatens to give rise to new COVID variants that could once again spark major disruptions for everyone.
Please join Social Security Works and our allies during the March 11th Global Day of Action calling on President Biden and other world leaders to remove Big Pharma’s monopoly stranglehold on COVID vaccines, tests and treatments and allow countries to produce the life-saving medicines their populations still desperately need.
Together, we can end the COVID pandemic. But the only way to permanently stop the ongoing disruptions to our lives is to help make vaccines, tests and treatments readily available to everyone in order to prevent new and even deadlier variants from arising.
Mass die-ins and other protests are being held in dozens of cities around the world to mark the anniversary of COVID-19 being declared a pandemic and to call on governments to #EndCOVIDMonopolies.
Please join us on March 11th at one of the following events…
Austin, TX New York, NY Boston, MA Portland, OR Dallas, TX San Diego, CA Detroit, MI San Francisco, CA El Paso, TX Washington, DC
Other demonstrations are taking place in Accra, Ghana; Guatemala City, Guatemala; Nairobi, Kenya; Lilongwe, Malawi; Port Louis, Mauritius; Lagos, Nigeria; Dakar, Senegal; Freetown, Sierra Leone; Dar es Salaam, Tanzania; Kampala, Uganda; London, United Kingdom; Lusaka, Zambia; and beyond. Details on those and other actions can be found online here.
No event near you? You can still make a difference by urging the White House to implement the "End the Pandemic Now” plan.
Thanks,
Alex Lawson Social Security Works
