Friend, I only have a few minutes before my next meeting, so I'll make this quick:

FIRST, Republicans realized that if I win this race, Democrats are virtually guaranteed to expand our Senate majority.

THEN, polling showed me neck and neck with Marco Rubio, so national Republicans began spending millions of dollars in attack ads to defeat me.

NOW, I just launched my first TV ad of the campaign to fight back and pull ahead – but we need to hit our critical fundraising goal to keep it on air, and we're falling short. 

Republicans are trying to buy this seat – no matter how much money it takes – and I urgently need more resources to fight back on the airwaves. Unless we quickly close this gap, our ad could go dark, and the GOP's attacks could go unanswered.

Failing to reach critical goals like this one could mean the difference between expanding our Senate majority and delivering it back to Mitch McConnell.
