News from Representative Allred

March 9, 2022

Dear Friend,

Yesterday, I touched down in North Texas on Air Force One along with President Biden. The President and I joined a bipartisan group of my fellow Texas representatives to meet with local veterans. I’m honored that the President made the first stop of his Unity Agenda tour here in North Texas because we’ve set an example of what we can accomplish when we put politics aside and deliver results for our veterans.

Two years ago, I helped transition the shuttered Baylor Scott and White Hospital into the Garland VA Medical Center. And last year, President Biden signed into law my legislation to establish a Spinal Cord Injury Center at the Dallas VA. Both of these achievements were possible thanks to bipartisan support and are now making a difference in the lives of local veterans and creating jobs in our communities.

As a member of the House Veterans Affairs Committee, I have been working to expand access to health care and benefits for our veterans since my first day in Congress. I know that establishing better care for veterans with health complications due to exposure to toxic chemicals in burn pits in Iraq and Afghanistan in particular, is an area that is deeply personal to the President. I am proud that my colleagues and I reaffirmed our commitment to passing President Biden’s Unity Agenda to better serve our veterans, expand health care access, lower costs for families and protect our planet and will keep working to do so.

If you or a veteran you know needs assistance dealing with the VA, my team and I can help. Give us a call at (972) 972-7949. It’s an honor to serve North Texas and support our local veterans.

Sincerely,
