Time’s almost out to join the fourth cohort of NPH’s Community Advocacy & Voter Engagement (CAVE) Professional Certification program, happening this April! (dates include 4/7, 4/28, and 5/19.)

Through CAVE, resident services staff gain strategies to create a culture and practice of advocacy within their affordable housing communities, empowering residents to participate in elections that directly impact their lives.

Are you resident services staff? Don’t miss out on the upcoming Resident Services Peer Sharing Call on Friday, March 25 (12:00-1:00PM PST)! We’ll take some time to hang out, check-in, vent about challenges, and share ideas/resources.

Change & New Beginnings at NPH

NPH bid farewell to our Administrative Associate, Hilda Morones, on February 15th. Hilda was with us for 3.5 years and played a key role in supporting our operations as well as helping build a supportive organizational culture. We wish her the best as she embarks on a new career within the nonprofit sector.

We also will say goodbye to our Policy Manager Beilul Naizghi, on March 11th. In her 2 years at NPH, Beilul was instrumental in helping to coordinate our policy advocacy, strategy, and coalition building with members and partners at the federal, state, and regional level. We are grateful for her contributions to the NPH community!  

We’re Hiring! NPH is looking for people who are passionate about the affordable housing movement in the Bay Area to join our team! We're hiring for several positions, including THREE new full time positions, to help support our work toward housing and racial justice:

 

Calling All Permanent Supportive Housing Developers!

The Permanent Supportive Housing (PSH) Working Groups are starting their second phase of data collection and peer-to-peer dialogue to better understand the full costs of providing PSH, generate consensus on best practices, and develop a collective advocacy agenda to improve the PSH ecosystem for consumers and developers/owners. 

We would like to invite PSH developers, owners and service providers to join these working groups:

  • Standards of Quality Work Group (formerly Best Practices)
    Goal: Standardize PSH nomenclature and develop quality standards and outcome metrics to evaluate PSH efficacy and efficiency.
    Meeting Date: Thursday, March 24 (2- 3pm)
     
  • Advocacy Work Group
    Goal: Develop a compelling advocacy agenda that directs funding to operations and reduces complexity in the funding and referral environments.
    Meeting Date: Friday, March 25 (11- 12pm) 
  • Data Stewardship Work Group
    Goal: Gather and analyze anonymized data to demonstrate the connection between PSH costs and resident outcomes.
    Meeting Date: TBD
