Team,
Every family in the United States deserves access to affordable child care. But there is tremendous inequality in access to child care services — inequality exacerbated by the coronavirus pandemic.
Mark knows this is an issue people in Virginia and beyond gave Democrats majorities in the House and the Senate to tackle. Senator Warner was a leader in fighting for childcare funding as part of Congress’s COVID relief efforts, but there’s still more work to be done. He’s working hard with his colleagues on federal actions that can make childcare for all a reality.
And he needs your help.
Sign Mark’s petition if you support Congressional action that will make child care more affordable and more available for all. [link removed]
The numbers don’t lie when it comes to child care.
According to one survey, child care costs an average of $340 PER WEEK, with more than half of working families spending more than $10,000 on child care in 2020. Nearly a third of children under the age of five in the United States don’t have access to quality child care because of the limited number of slots, and more than half of all families live in child care deserts.
We can’t let these problems persist. Sign our petition to urge Congress to prioritize fixes to our child care system. [link removed]
Thank you,
Team Warner
