The Postal Service is a mess.
But help is finally on the way—and you helped make it happen. Thanks to folks like you speaking out, the Senate passed the Postal Service Reform Act, the biggest reform to the USPS in nearly two decades.
I fought to pass this bill in the House because it’s going to be a big help for Vermonters. And this happened because Congress did things the Vermont way: we listened.
We listened to people who gathered in Elmore to save their rural post office. We listened to complaints about the uptick in delays—from seniors who rely on getting life-saving prescription drugs in the mail, people living paycheck-to-paycheck who weren’t getting their paychecks on time, rural communities that missed deliveries, small businesses that couldn’t count on shipments, and more.
, here’s what the Postal Service Reform Act will do:
The bill now heads to President Biden’s desk, and I’m honored that we worked together to make it happen. We’re bringing better service to our communities and will put the Postal Service in its strongest financial position in years.
Thanks for your support,
Peter
