Hi,
Nature's gifts to our planet are the millions of species that we
know and love. Many more species remain to be discovered.
Unfortunately, the world is facing the greatest rate of extinction
since that of the dinosaurs more than 60 million years
ago.1
Today's unprecedented global destruction and rapid reduction of
wildlife populations are directly linked to human activity:
deforestation, habitat loss, unsustainable agriculture, climate
change, pollution, and pesticides.
The other living beings that share our planet have the same right
to existence as we do. Our existence depends on
theirs.
We urge you to take action to defend the Endangered Species Act,
our most critical legal tool for restoring animals at risk of
extinction. Over the years, the ESA has faced many challenges, such as
attacks by large industries that put profits over animal life and
habitat protection.
Please sign our petition and tell Congress
that you support the Endangered Species Act and oppose any efforts to
weaken it.
We must do everything in our power to stop the sixth great
extinction that is underway. The Endangered Species Act is
helping to save more than 1,600 U.S. plants, fish, and animal species.
Without this key piece of legislation, future generations may never
know some of the species we’ve all grown to appreciate.
Take action now.
For our survival,
Kathleen Rogers President
