The good news:
- Together, the fair redistricting movement has helped successfully prevent gerrymandering in states from Colorado to Minnesota to Oregon and more.
- Courts have sided with fair maps in states from Pennsylvania to North Carolina to Ohio.
The bad news:
- Republicans have responded by pushing more ruthless gerrymanders in states like Florida and Missouri.
- And they’ve asked the U.S. Supreme Court to overturn fair-map legal decisions!
The next steps:
- With our affiliates, the NDRC will continue to defend fair maps and support voters in lawsuits against manipulated maps.
- We will work to hold Republicans accountable and help elect officials who support fair maps during the 2022 election season.
