Did you see our urgent call to action to save rare wolves? Alaska’s Alexander Archipelago wolves are at risk of losing their home — and their lives — to old-growth clearcut logging.

We already told you that we have to stop President Trump and the U.S. Forest
Service from allowing development and logging of ancient, old-growth trees in
roadless areas of the Tongass National Forest. We also told you that we need at
least 20,000 wildlife advocates like you to submit personal, passionate comments
by December 17th to have any chance of keeping this untouched Tongass habitat
protected.

But John, as of this morning, we’re still 6,425
comments short of our critical goal.

Will you be one of the 6,425 friends of wildlife we need to reach our goal and
save wolves?

A government assessment found that Alexander Archipelago wolf numbers plummeted
by 75% from 1994 to 2014 in just one area of the national forest where they
live. Logging and road development are key contributors to this frightening
decline.

Still, President Trump personally instructed the U.S. Forest Service to revoke
roadless rule protections for the Tongass National Forest so logging companies
can move into our last remaining wild places.


[[link removed]]Despite the clear risks to the Alexander Archipelago wolf and other unique
species, plans are in the making to remove protections for all 9.2 million
roadless acres in the Tongass. This is wrong.

We need at least 6,425 people to speak out against this potentially lethal plan
right now. Tell the President and the Forest Service to keep roadless
protections in place for America’s largest national forest and save wolves.

More than 700 square miles of the Tongass has already been cleared by commercial
loggers, and much of the remaining forest is fragmented by over 4,500 miles of
roads. More logging and more roads in the Tongass will lead to fewer and fewer of
these rare wolves, until there aren’t any left.

We need every dedicated friend of wildlife fighting alongside us right now
because we’re running out of time to stop this plan. Will you be one of the 6,425 friends of wildlife that we still need to protect
our declining wolves from Trump’s Forest Service?
