I know you’ve heard me say it before but, my race really is one of the most competitive in the country. There’s no overwhelming partisan advantage in my district and we’re running in a state that is known for its ‘swing state’ status.
On one hand, our campaign sees this as an opportunity to talk to as many Nevadans as possible. On the other hand, the GOP sees this as a sign that they can waltz in, flip this district red, and erase all of the progress we’ve together made in Congress.
I use the word ‘all’ when speaking about our progress as this election could determine control of the House. I know – there’s a lot on the line.
Whether it’s fighting for climate action, preserving Nevada’s natural lands, advocating for equal rights, or working to create good-paying jobs – a House Republican Majority would make it their mission to do the exact opposite.
In fact, Republican interests and my 4 far-right opponents have amassed $1.5 million to spend in my district to spread mistruths about me and my record. In the coming 8 months, we have to prepare for millions more of the GOP’s dark money to be funneled into this race.
The stakes have never been higher in this race than they are now. We can’t afford to let the House flip to the control of far-right partisan leaders who seek to divide our country even further.
You, my supporters, have stood up in the past to keep this district blue and hold the House. I need to know if I can count on your support for my campaign once again.
