 # [#] John,

Today is International Women’s Day, a day to honor the women in our lives and around the world who have bravely fought for gender equality.

I often think of my mom, a woman who was incredibly dedicated to East Hartford and inspired me every day to give back to my community. Read more about my inspiration here: [[link removed]]

As we take the time to honor the accomplishments of generations of women who have fought for equality, we must acknowledge the problems that still exist and fight to bridge the gender gap.

All women deserve equality, regardless of their race or background. Whether it's protecting access to abortion, providing federal paid family and medical leave, or ensuring equal pay for equal work — we can honor women by taking action!
