It’s International Women’s Day, and Voices for Public Transit is celebrating by paying tribute to some of the notable women who have helped define—and in some cases, redefine—the history of transportation and public transit in America over the years. |
From shaping national transportation policy to heading up major metropolitan transit systems, these women have had an outsized impact on the course of public transit—and we wouldn’t be where we are today without their contributions. This International Women’s Day—and every day—we celebrate the achievements, and are proud to highlight, the vital role women play in public transportation.
