John — Did you know Black women are 1.5 times more likely to be sent home from work because of their hair?
For too long, Black women have been told their natural hair is unprofessional. Black hair is beautiful — and it’s time to end hair discrimination now.
The CROWN Act would move us one step closer toward ending hair discrimination and shifting the conversation about natural hair — but House Republicans sided with racism and they blocked our bill to ban hair discrimination.
This fight isn’t over.
I’ll continue to fight for the hair love revolution. But now more than ever, I need to know that you’re with me.
Are you ready to end hair discrimination? Add your name to my petition and show House Republicans that we can overcome whatever obstacles they throw in our path toward stamping out racism and discrimination in all its forms. [[link removed]]

I’m grateful to my colleagues in the House who helped us advance this bill to a vote — including Rep. Ayanna Pressley, Rep. Ilhan Omar, Rep. Bonnie Watson Coleman, and Rep. Gwen Moore.
And I’m thankful to you for standing with me in this fight, no matter what obstacles come our way.
In solidarity,
Barbara Lee
