"It stops now," she said.
Esposito called for criminals to be held accountable and for Albany to roll back new laws passed under total Democratic rule.
"Judges need to be able to weigh dangerous and past criminal records when they impose sentences and bail," she said.
Esposito recalled highlights of a 24-year career in the department, her extensive training and experience, and said she would bring all of it to Albany as lieutenant governor.

Zeldin supporters said they were excited about his choice of Esposito as his running mate.
“Alison brings experience to the key issue of the day — public safety and law enforcement,” said state Conservative Party chairman Jerry Kassar, a Brooklyn resident who knows Esposito.
