New Report: Out from the Shadows

Schools across the country remove students with disabilities from the classroom using illegal practices known as “informal removals." These "off the books" dismissals are described in detail in this new report released by the National Disability Rights Network called "Out from the Shadows: Informal Removal of Children with Disabilities from Public Schools."

Threat Assessments in Schools

In this paper, NDRN and other civil rights groups examine the practice of “threat assessment” and the real world harm created when school officials see the students themselves – particularly Black and Brown students – as potential dangers to the school community. Read our recent paper on threat assessments.

White House Responds to NDRN’s Concerns About COVID-19 Test Accessibility

NDRN sent a letter to the White House expressing concerns about the multiple accessibility barriers that will make the at-home rapid COVID-19 tests being provided by the Administration unusable by many Americans with disabilities. The White House Office of Public Engagement responded that the administration is calling on the NIH to develop accessible at-home tests.

Work Without Worry

The Work Without Worry Act would allow Americans with disabilities to take on employment opportunities without fear of losing social security benefits, known as Disabled Adult Child (DAC) benefits.

If you think it is important for NDRN to continue to protect and advocate for the rights of people with disabilities, please donate to support this work. Thank you!
