This is big – Donald Trump likely committed multiple crimes connected to his efforts to overturn the 2020 election, according to a court filing from the bipartisan January 6th House Select Committee.

The Committee reportedly has what they call a "good-faith basis" to believe that Trump defrauded the American people by spreading dangerous disinformation about the integrity of our elections – and illegally pressuring state officials and then-Vice President Mike Pence to throw out election results.

If Attorney General Merrick Garland and the DOJ look the other way and decline to investigate these serious allegations, they’ll tacitly give Trump and future presidents a green light to abuse their power and violate this country’s bedrock principles.

Much of the DOJ’s work is done behind closed doors so there may be efforts underway that the public doesn’t know about yet. But whether or not this is the case, Garland needs to hear that we’re counting on the DOJ to hold Trump accountable and protect our democracy from his authoritarian agenda.

If you agree that the DOJ must investigate this evidence suggesting egregious criminal conduct by Donald Trump, add your name today.
