Hello,
Take a look at this headline:
The National Republican Senatorial Committee is planning to move “beyond the handful of already established battlegrounds” and target “states currently considered safe for Democrats.”
The chair of the committee, Rick Scott—who suggested raising income taxes on millions of lower-income Americans, while threatening to end Medicare and Social Security, if Republicans retake control—said this: “I think we’re going to have some sleepers, where people are going to say, boy, we didn’t anticipate that one.” Specifically, “he pointed to Colorado, Washington and Vermont.”
Those aren’t empty words—Senate Republicans have tens of millions of dollars in the bank, ready to spend on races they think they can win. This comes after a GOP Trump appointee, hand-picked by national Republicans, announced a campaign for U.S. Senate in Vermont. Now, Republicans are eyeing races like ours to flip.
If we’re going to keep the Democratic Senate majority, we need to win here in Vermont and elect Peter Welch—a strong progressive who delivers results.
Everything—from lowering prescription drug costs to protecting our democracy—is on the line in this election.
Republican strategists are calling this a “sleeper race” because they don’t think we’re paying attention. But they’ve got another thing coming. Peter is working hard to earn every vote, he's ready to fight on Day One to deliver real change, and we’re not taking anything for granted in a state that just reelected a Republican governor.
But we’ve got to win this together. The Senate hangs in the balance—and Republicans are looking to Vermont.
