John, we’ll be quick. Despite passionate speeches from LGBTQ elected officials, student walkouts and nationwide pressure, the Florida legislature just passed the dangerous ‘Don’t Say Gay’ bill. Governor Ron DeSantis – who hates LGBTQ people so much he’s willing to use LGBTQ kids as a punching bag to prove his conservative credentials before launching his White House run – is expected to sign the bill into law soon.

Equality Florida, with support from many of the Sunshine State’s local LGBTQ organizations, has been on the frontlines in the fight to stop this horrific bill. They’ve launched ads, helped organize walkouts and kept the LGBTQ community engaged and updated. But even with their hard work, pro-equality legislators are in the minority in Florida. Despite public pressure and protests, bigots simply ignored their constituents’ wishes and passed the bill anyway.
To ensure this horrific bill is repealed, we must pick up seats in Florida – and hold the ones we have. It’s imperative we not only reelect LGBTQ legislators Shevrin Jones and Carlos Guillermo Smith , but we must also elect Janelle Perez to the Florida state Senate, elect Todd Delmay and Adam Gentle to the Florida House and ensure Ty Penserga becomes the next mayor of Boynton Beach. Look, we know this won’t be an easy fight to win. Bigots like DeSantis think we’re going to give up now that ‘Don’t Say Gay’ has passed. Dark money is going to pour into the state to ensure this bill remains law.
But we’re not giving up. Stand with us – split a donation to LGBTQ Victory Fund and Equality Florida today. [[link removed]]
