Dear ,

As you might have seen previously, we are excited about our upcoming online cohort for the Movement Ecology Course starting this April 20th and ending on May 11th 2022. This email is a reminder to sign up and enroll today!

This 4 week cohort is meant to provide an accessible experience in our busy schedules to learn a key tool for social change.

In the cohort we will explore the concepts of Foundational Theories of Change, their strengths and weaknesses, mapping of your own ecosystem, and how they collaborate to form what we call Movement Ecology.

The purpose of the cohort is to provide a deeper experience in which participants join others and go through the content of the self-paced course together, do individual and group exercises on the course material, share reflections and ask questions through weekly virtual calls that reinforce their practice.

Alongside our weekly cohort sessions, we will provide office hours for those who enroll to receive support and ask questions on the course material.

What is the Movement Ecology Cohort About?

Movement Ecology is an introduction to understanding the many different strategies that arise when we are faced with creating social change.

While many of us have tried to create the conditions for social movements where there is collaboration across groups and organizations, we believe that collaboration can only happen when we are clear on the differences between the strategies that live in them. This means that we can only have ecological thinking/action in social change if we know what makes the parts of the movement different in relation to one another.

We call these multiple strategies Foundational Theories of Change and we believe that the key to power that many of us are working hard to harness is found in their collaboration.

In this cohort we dive into the strengths and weakness of each Foundational Theory of Change, and provide answers to some of the common questions that come up when we’ve previously shared the framework:
* Which Theory of Change do I spend most of my time working in?
* What is the role of each Theory of Change within the context of the larger movement?
* How can we relate and support other Foundational Theories of Change?
* How can we build a culture of interdependence and embrace multi-strategic movements

This content is part of a larger set of concepts that are in our Social Movement Course, which is an 11 module self paced course, topics like Movement Seasons or Popular Support are covered there and will not be covered in this cohort since we are focusing on Foundational Theories of Change and Movement Ecology. We hope to provide cohorts for those topics at a later time.

New Student Pricing

Included with your enrollment to the cohort is access to the self paced Movement Ecology Course at the Ayni School, which includes pre-recorded video that already includes a majority of the content that will be featured in the cohort.
