I imagine you have seen the news headlines about the situation in Eastern Europe. With Ukrainians experiencing armed conflict, the UNHCR (the U.N. refugee agency) estimates as many as 5 million refugees from Ukraine could flood neighboring countries. This crisis adds to the 84 million people already displaced worldwide. The number is staggering.

My calendar reminds me that today is International Women’s Day, and I think of the fact that about half of refugees are women and girls. And this is true of the refugees fleeing the conflict in Ukraine. Please take time to pray today for these women who often experience sexual violence, child marriage, and significant health concerns. I know you care for these women who suffer in silence and stigma while yet still caring for their families.

Rush Survival Kits to People Affected by the Conflict in Ukraine
