John,
This March, Women’s History Month takes on a whole new level of importance.
For the past year, we have faced unprecedented attacks on abortion access across our country. From our far-right Supreme Court allowing Texas’ 6-week abortion ban to continue, to the record number of local abortion care restrictions that have been passed in the past year — we are currently witnessing the worst attacks on reproductive rights in our lifetimes.
Yet in the face of all of these challenges, women were the ones leading efforts to resist these attacks and calling for abortion justice. Last October, hundreds of thousands of us hit the streets across our nation to Rally for Abortion Justice — and together, we made it clear that we won't tolerate any attacks on our reproductive freedom.
This past year, we’ve gathered at the Supreme Court, in our own communities, and online to combat misinformation about abortion and amplify our message for abortion justice. Thousands of you have volunteered to rise up with our movement.
Your support is the power behind our resistance. We’re counting on it, especially now, leading up to a critical Supreme Court case to determine abortion rights and a competitive midterm elections season where we have a chance to hold anti-abortion politicians accountable.
That’s why today, we’re asking you to show your support in honor of International Women’s Day and help us raise $20,000 for our feminist organizing work here at Women’s March.
We know that many people are struggling this year – but that’s what makes our work even more important. People – especially women – are struggling and it will take a mass movement like ours to demand a fundamental shift in our government.
As we continue to deal with the crises of anti-abortion extremism, COVID-19, mass unemployment, and the rise of disinformation, it’s critical that our team has the resources to continue growing this women-led movement and organizing for transformative policies.
Thank you,
Rachel
