Friend --

Earlier this week, the Supreme Court heard arguments in a case that could allow the Trump Administration to end the DACA program which protects young immigrants brought to the United States as children from deportation.

I don't say this lightly. One of the proudest moments of my first year in Congress was voting in support of H.R. 6 the American Dream and Promise Act. This bill provides a pathway to permanent legal status for the 800,000 Dreamers who came to the United States as children and consider this their home.

I remember when Dreamers from my district came out to Washington to advocate for this bill. I also remember being on the House floor and looking up to the gallery where I saw them -- tears in their eyes -- when this bill finally passed.

Dreamers should not have to live in fear of deportation. They have grown up here, gone to school here, and they contribute to this country. They're just as American as my own children. And the idea that the Supreme Court may nullify DACA should concern anyone who believes in the American Dream.

With DACA at stake, will you sign our petition reaffirming your commitment to protecting our Dreamers by creating a pathway to permanent legal status? [link removed]

In this country, we believe that all men and women are created equal. But when it comes to our Dreamers, Trump and his far-right allies blatantly disregard this enshrined belief in favor of discrimination and winning cheap political points with their base.

Their actions do not represent who we are, and with the latest attack, we have a responsibility to send a message that we will never stop working to give Dreamers a chance to live their lives to the fullest.

Thanks in advance for your support,

TJ Cox
