Dear John,
This International Women’s Day, we have so many reasons to be hopeful, and so many reasons to keep fighting. This is a day to celebrate and uplift the trailblazers and leaders of the past, present, and future. For me, it’s my grandmother Viola, a survivor against all odds. Consider marking this day with a donation to the National Women’s Law Center in honor of a woman who inspires you.
“I’m donating today in honor of my best friend, Aurora. She’s not only one of the biggest cheerleaders I have in my life but, she also is dedicated to putting in the work to make the world a better place.” —Lark Lewis, Manager of Creative and Digital Strategies
"I'm donating today in honor of my sister who is one of the most resilient and coolest people I know. She is the biggest supporter of everyone in her life and still takes time to pursue her own dreams." —Selina Tran, Senior Manager of Creative and Digital Strategies
“In celebration of International Women’s Day I’m donating in tribute to Judge Ketanji Brown Jackon.” —Joshua Tobing, Manager of Philanthropic Engagement
When you donate in honor and celebration of a loved one or friend who inspires you, you can even let them know with a special note.
This year’s International Women’s Day is an especially poignant moment for our team—2022 marks 50 years since the Law Center’s founding. That’s 50 years of fighting for gender justice and equality—from the halls of Congress, to the courts, to the streets.
This is also a historic moment. With the nomination of Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson to the Supreme Court, we’re celebrating the prospect of the first ever Black woman Justice. I know we’ve been waiting so long for this moment, and we’re ready to see her confirmation through despite racist and sexist attacks, with your support.
We know that at the same time, so much is on the line. The constitutional right to abortion hangs in the balance at the Supreme Court. Millions of women and families still struggle to afford child care. We still don’t have equal pay.
By making a donation to the Law Center to honor a friend, loved one, or relative, you’re fueling the fight for full gender equality, bodily autonomy, racial justice, and civil rights. I hope you’ll consider marking this special day with a gift.
Thank you for all that you do.
Onward,
