"The queue at the border with Poland is 15 kilometers long. All the
hotels are overcrowded, there is nowhere to stay. We asked a local
resident, a saleswoman in a store, to stay overnight, she sheltered
our large family. I burst into tears when she said that she would not
take the money. My little son mutters in a dream ‘I want to go back to
my Kyiv.’"

"We are staying at home. Everything is closed, including my clinic, I
cannot get the next round of chemotherapy. We hear shots and
explosions at night. Everyone who could leave, have left. We are just
  praying."

LUDMYLA*, 46 YEARS OLD, WHO REMAINED IN KYIV WITH HER SMALL DAUGHTER
AND OLDER MOTHER
