John,
I am sure that you agree that grocery shopping, stopping for gas, and paying
your heating bills have been causing sticker shock and a severe strain on our
pocketbooks.
The cost of meat, produce, coffee, cereal, gasoline, electricity, and
everything else is skyrocketing at a near-record pace.
These rising costs are hitting Americans from all backgrounds hard, but the
government at all levels has completely failed to slow down the unsustainable
rate of inflation.
In fact, they’re making some food harder to get than ever.
California’s Proposition 12, which just went into effect, severely restricts
the way pigs have been raised and pork has been sold for decades.
Not only will these new regulations drive up already high prices and threaten
the availability of pork throughout the state of California, but the law also
applies to pork producersoutside California who are supplying their product
within the state.
So even suppliers who don’t live and vote in California are losing business
because of government mismanagement there.
These are exactly the kind of crushing regulations that Citizens Against
Government Waste is fighting to put an end to so that you can once again afford
food for your family, gas for your car, and energy for your home.
This is the kind of waste and abuse that hurts you personally, and the
government does not care.
And inflation is so high that any increase in your hard-earned salary or
retirement income cannot keep pace.
John, it makes me sick.
We’re going to keep working to put an end to waste like this, but we can’t do
it without you on our team.
Keep an eye out for more updates and opportunities for feedback in your inbox.
Thank you for your continuing support of CAGW.
Sincerely,
Tom Schatz
