Friend — 1.7 MILLION.

That's how many people have been forced to flee across the borders of Ukraine for safety. One million refugees have crossed into Poland alone. The numbers are staggering.

IRC staff members are on the ground in Poland, identifying humanitarian needs and partnering with local organizations to meet them.

Right now, our teams are sourcing plenty of blankets and warm meals to welcome refugees entering the country. But for families on the move, this is far from the end of their harrowing journey.

Friend, the past two weeks have been incredibly difficult for the people of Ukraine — and unfortunately, this crisis is far from over. Can you send in a gift of just $5 or $10 a month to help us be there for displaced families every day, all year round?

For those who have arrived in Poland and other neighboring countries, there is still a long, difficult road ahead. They will need our continued support to resettle in a new country, find work, cope with their trauma and more.

Also, many refugees are arriving without documents, which puts them at increased risk of becoming victims of crime and trafficking.

Friend, your new monthly gift can help families affected by conflict in Ukraine, Yemen, Afghanistan, and crisis zones worldwide. For example, $21 could provide one new refugee mom with a baby kit each month. $40 could help one refugee get vaccinated each month. And $100 could provide 60 displaced families with soap each month to meet their essential needs and protect them from COVID-19.

Monthly gifts are the backbone of our work. Thanks to the reliable support of monthly donors, we're not just there when a disaster happens — we're there day in and day out for families facing conflict and crisis.

Your compassion and support means so much to us. We cannot thank you enough.
