Today marks 57 years since Bloody Sunday. As activists for voting rights peacefully crossed the Edmund Pettus Bridge in Selma, Alabama, white state troopers violently attacked Black marchers.

57 years have passed, and our fight for voting rights continues.

Vice President Harris said it best while commemorating the anniversary yesterday in Selma: “Today, we stand on this bridge at a different time. We again, however, find ourselves caught in between. Between injustice and justice. Between disappointment and determination. Still in a fight to form a more perfect union. And nowhere is that more clear than when it comes to the ongoing fight to secure the freedom to vote.”

Voting rights are once again under attack, team — in state legislatures, in courts, and even in Republican campaign offices across the country.

We must take action.

Democrats have introduced critical legislation to expand upon the 1965 Voting Rights Act and counteract these nationwide attacks on voting rights, including The John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act of 2021, honoring the late John Lewis, who was present that day in Selma.

But Republican obstruction has stopped this legislation dead in its tracks — and we need your support to fight back.

Will you contribute to Team Swalwell’s efforts to protect and expand the Democratic House and Senate majorities so we can pass this critical legislation? [[link removed]]
