John,
When I was on the campaign trail I made a promise to prioritize climate readiness. I did not take that promise lightly. There is no greater, more urgent threat than the warming of our planet. Now with the Office of the Comptroller, I’m taking action.
Team Lander is prioritizing climate readiness NOW by:
- Calling on increased enforcement of NYC’s Green New Deal Building Emissions Law
- Building a Public Solar Budget Proposal to make energy efficiency more accessible for all New Yorkers
- Hiring a Chief Climate Officer with a strong background in infrastructure resiliency and just transition workforce development
- Pushing companies, including in a meeting with the CEO of General Motors, to align their lobbying with meeting the Paris Agreement climate goals
I’m so proud of all that we’ve accomplished on climate in such a short period of time, but we have a long way to go and need to show our agenda has support. If you agree that climate change solutions must be a top priority for our office, instantly add your name here.
With hope,
Brad
