One thing is clear at this moment: sanctions are not enough to deter Putin both
now and in the long-run

John,

As Russia continues to attack Ukraine completely unprovoked, it’s clear that
sanctions are not enough to deter Putin both now and in the long run. Like
Ukraine, it’s time for the Biden Administration to show some courage by arming
our allies, keeping nuclear weapons out of the hands of our enemies, and
ultimately stopping this war from spilling over into other parts of the world.

Catch up on all of Mike’s recent interviews below and add your name here
<[link removed]> to tell Biden to
take stronger action in support of Ukraine.

"It’s Time for America to Wake Up"
<[link removed]>
Bottom Line: “Shame on us for being so slow to help a friend, our friends in
Ukraine who are demonstrating the will to fight. We could have armed them to
the teeth. It wouldn't have required us to put our own boots on the ground, and
made this even more difficult for Vladimir Putin. But of course, the Biden
administration was wedded to this threat of sanctions, the only strategy that
ultimately failed to deter Putin."

“Thugs like Putin are not going to be deterred by strongly-worded statements.”

Bottom Line: “[The Biden Admin] is testing the theory that in a gunfight, they
can prevail with sanctions and sternly worded statements. They have not brought
guns to a gunfight. I don't think that's going to be sufficient to deter
Vladimir Putin.”

"Shame on us for not providing support more quickly"
<[link removed]>
Bottom Line: “The remarkable courage on display of grandmas picking up rifles
to defend Kyiv, you have border guards in the South telling Russian warships to
'go to hell'. You have Zelensky himself leading from the front, begging us for
more ammunition. That courage should inspire us. Shame on us for not providing
support more quickly.”

“Americans should not have to sacrifice and suffer for Biden's foolish
decisions.”
<[link removed]>
Bottom Line: “Our enemies are going to school on this, particularly China.
Unless we have hard power in Putin's path and we turn what he hopes will be a
quick victory into a long and painful one, he’s going to be able to achieve
what he wants to achieve. We’re going to look embarrassed and we’re going to
project more weakness onto the world stage.”
