Tomorrow, March 8th is International Women’s Day, a day of recognition held each year to advocate for women’s rights.

The theme of this year’s International Women’s Day is “Gender equality today for a sustainable tomorrow,” highlighting how women and girls are effective and powerful leaders for shaping the future. Through our life-changing Dream Programs, our volunteers are working tirelessly to pave the way to a world where women and girls are central in solving the biggest problems of the 21st century. Today, we celebrate each and every one of our supporters for the role you play in creating that lasting impact.

However, women and girls today still face countless obstacles. Violence, lack of support for single mothers, poverty, discrimination—these are just a few of their challenges. But women and girls are determined to change that. They are fighting for their future. Will you?

Each of the women and girls we will help is more than a number. Each has her own story and her own dream.

Like Carolina, a $10,000 Live Your Dream Awards recipient from 2021. Carolina always knew she wanted to pursue a career in engineering, but her dream felt out of reach. Being the sole breadwinner for her family ever since high school, Carolina often felt overwhelmed by financial hardship. But she refused to give up her education even if she could only afford to take one class a semester. Now, thanks to donors like you, Carolina’s dream can finally take off. 

“My ultimate goal has always been to become an Aerospace Engineer while being part of an organization that promotes education for women in STEM fields,” Carolina says. She wants to help create a future where women shape the science and technology that moves civilization forward.
