Hello,
One of the best parts of living in Vermont is enjoying the scenery and
breathing the fresh air.
But climate change threatens our natural resources—and people’s lives and
livelihoods. This past December was our warmest December ever on record.
This January was the coldest January on record. Floods and droughts are
Vermont’s most common natural disasters, and expected to increase in
frequency due to climate change.
If we continue on this path, marginalized communities will suffer the most
damage. We can’t wait any longer to address climate change—and a Green New
Deal will ensure a more just and sustainable future, with good-paying
green jobs.
I’ve brought members of Congress together to deliver results before—even
against powerful interests like fossil fuel corporations. If I have the
honor of serving as Vermont’s senator, I’ll be ready to continue working
on a Green New Deal from Day One. And if we work together, we can overcome
any obstacle the fossil fuel industry throws our way.
