Exciting news, team: United We Dream Action secured our first victory of 2022!
Last Tuesday, Greg Casar — a progressive, pro-immigrant organizer and UWDA’s first endorsed candidate of the cycle — won his primary for Texas’ 35th congressional district.
Casar is a labor and immigrant rights organizer and Austin City Council member who is deeply committed to expanding the rights of immigrant communities and ensuring we can all thrive in this country.
United We Dream Action sent nearly 10,000 texts and made almost 3,000 calls in support of his campaign. Greg Casar’s resounding victory in the primary is a sign that in the face of egregious and widespread voter suppression, the electoral power of young people and people of color cannot be silenced or ignored.
This is just the beginning of our work for 2022 as we uplift more candidates who listen to our demands and show time and again that they are ready to fight alongside us to create a just future where our humanity, dignity, and rights are centered.
