Affordable health care is necessary for the health of our state’s people and economy.
 
I’ve been fighting for lower prescription drug prices. We’re currently suing more than 20 drug manufacturers, including some of the largest companies in the world, for price-fixing. We’ve shown we’re willing to take drug companies to court when they put profits over people and hurt Washingtonians.
 
But there’s more that needs to be done to ensure quality, affordable care for everyone in our state. Right now, Democrats in Congress are working on a health care solution called the Lower Drug Costs Now Act, or H.R. 3. I fully support this bill because I know that allowing Medicare to negotiate directly with drug companies would make prescription drugs more affordable for all Americans. Yet Trump is refusing to cooperate with House Democrats on this legislation because he doesn’t have the American people’s best interests at heart.
