This isn’t ever something I thought I’d have to write, but first and foremost I wanted to say thank you for all the kind wishes, prayers, and healing thoughts throughout my recovery from a stroke earlier this year. It hasn’t been easy, but it truly felt like a team effort to heal. Thank you.

I’m in good health, and have just recently returned to the Senate. I can’t tell you how excited I am to get back to work.

As I’ve focused on my recovery, we’ve scaled back our fundraising efforts online and in-person. It was the right thing to do, and I’m proud of my team’s decision. But this means it’s going to be challenging to reach our end-of-quarter FEC goal by the end of this month.

With Senate Republicans announcing that they raised more than $100 million to retake the majority, we need to make sure that we have the resources necessary to fight back.

So my team is setting a goal of raising $10,000 over the next 72 hours. I know it sounds like a lot, but the midterms are right around the corner. This team has accomplished so much already, and I know we can do it again. Right now, messages just like this one are critical to ensuring that we hit this goal.
