Hi — I’m writing to share a quick update on my latest work in Congress. As always, please don’t hesitate to drop me a note with any questions or feedback. I hope you and your family are safe and healthy.


1. Delivering a Historic Bipartisan Investment in Infrastructure.

-I stopped in Teaneck, Oakland, and Oradell to discuss how the Bipartisan Infrastructure Bill I proudly helped shape and pass will help fix Jersey’s crumbling roads, bridges, and rails, make commutes safer, create good jobs, and boost our economy. -We’re finally moving ahead with the critical Gateway Train Tunnel Project. Read at NJ.com [[link removed]] and [[link removed]].

-The bill also helps ensure NJ families have clean drinking water, free of lead and forever chemicals. Read at NJ.com: [link removed].


2. Cutting the Pothole Tax.

-I visited a stretch of Rt. 17 to share how the Bipartisan Infrastructure Bill will help cut the Pothole Tax that costs NJ drivers $713 each year due to crumbling roads. Read at WRNJ [[link removed]] and NJ101.5 [[link removed]].


3. Promoting a Commonsense ‘22 Agenda. 

-I’m working with my colleagues in the House on a moderate, commonsense agenda to take on our nation’s toughest challenges. Read in The NY Times [[link removed]] and CNN [[link removed]].


4. Standing with Ukraine. 

-We must stand strong with our democratic allies, including implementing the strongest possible sanctions against Russia for its horrifying and indefensible invasion of Ukraine. Read at Patch.com [[link removed]], NJ Globe [[link removed]], and InsiderNJ [[link removed]].


5. Tackling Rising Costs and Supply Chain Issues.

-At Stew Leonard’s in Paramus, I announced steps to make life more affordable for NJ families – including lowering taxes (SALT) and prescription drug prices. We must also pass the America COMPETES Act to combat rising costs and supply chain issues while boosting the manufacturing of semiconductors which will create jobs here in the U.S. Watch at CBS2 [[link removed]] and listen at CBS 880 [[link removed]].

-At BD (Becton, Dickinson) in Franklin Lakes, I announced my new bipartisan legislation to strengthen our Strategic National Stockpile, modernize our healthcare supply chain, and ensure our nation is prepared to prevent shortages of critical supplies in the event of future crises. -I called on President Biden to mobilize the National Guard and create a Strategic Shipping Reserve aimed at moving essential medical supplies and other critical goods needed to combat the COVID-19 pandemic. Read at NJ.com [[link removed]] and North-JerseyNews [[link removed]].


6. Welcomed First Lady Dr. Jill Biden to Jersey.

-I joined First Lady Dr. Jill Biden – an NJ native and former resident of Mahwah – in her visit to Bergen Community College. Read at NJ.com [[link removed]] and NorthJersey.com [[link removed]].


7. Transitioning from COVID, Getting People Back to Work and School. 

-I asked for federal support to expand our rapid testing capabilities, and address staffing issues at healthcare facilities to help get people back to work and protect our communities. Read at WRNJ [[link removed]] and InsiderNJ [[link removed]].

-To keep our seniors and veterans safe, I demanded an immediate update on corrective action at Andover Subacute since the COVID outbreak one year ago. I also asked the U.S. Dept. of Health and Human Services and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services to investigate current conditions at the facility. 8. Invest, Not Defund Law Enforcement. 

-I was proud to be joined in Dumont and Newton by law enforcement from around the state as I announced my new bipartisan Invest to Protect Act, to provide the critical, targeted support local law enforcement needs to keep our families, communities, and police officers safe. 9. Supporting our Veterans.

-I visited the Paramus Veterans Memorial Home with 400 valentine cards handmade by students from several North Jersey schools. Read at WRNJ [[link removed]].

-I spoke on the House floor in honor of Pete Dupre – Harmonica Pete – a WWII veteran and a true American Hero who brought joy to so many with his music and was a passionate advocate for his fellow veterans. Watch at Forbes Breaking News: [link removed].

-I also stopped by Ridgewood American Legion Post 53 to talk about expanding access to health care and other benefits for our great veterans. Read at InsiderNJ [[link removed]].


10. Defending Our Democracy.

-I proudly cast my vote to strengthen and protect the fundamental voting rights of all Americans – because that sacred right is about protecting our freedom, not electing one party or another. Read at PBS.org [[link removed]].

-I sat down with NorthJersey.com to discuss my experience during the lawless attack on our Capitol, and the steps we must take to safeguard our democracy and ensure an insurrection like Jan 6th can never happen again. Watch at NorthJersey.com [[link removed]].


11. Clawing Back Federal Dollars and Cutting Taxes for the Fifth District.

-I visited Paramus to announce our latest Return on Investment Report for the Fifth District. Since 2016, we have increased the federal dollars we have clawed back from Washington by 112%. Last year alone, we save an average of $415 for every household here. I am fighting every day to help lower property taxes and make life more affordable for our families. -The Fifth District was awarded $575,000 in FEMA’s Assistance to Firefighter Grants to help our first responders keep our communities safe. Read at InsiderNJ [[link removed]].


12. New Cryptocurrency Legislation.

-I announced a working draft of my new cryptocurrency legislation – the Stablecoin Innovation and Protection Act – that will enhance certainty in the market, protect consumers and investors, and allow innovation to flourish. Read at CNBC [[link removed]] and Politico [[link removed]].


13. Supporting Our Community on Martin Luther King Day of Service.

-As we honored the legacy of Dr. King, I joined the Jewish Federation of Northern New Jersey to help collect more than 10,000 socks for our neighbors in need. Read at NorthJersey.com [[link removed]].


14. Combating Hatred and Antisemitism.

-I had the opportunity to speak at Rutgers Hillel about combating the concerning rise in antisemitism and working together to stamp out hate in all its forms. Read at the Jewish Standard [[link removed]] and The Algemeiner [[link removed]].

-At a Committee on Homeland Security hearing, I shared my strong support for the critical U.S.-Israel relationship. I also spoke with the Anti-Defamation League’s Jonathan Greenblatt about the biased Amnesty International report that falsely seeks to brand Israel an “apartheid state.” Watch my hearing on YouTube: [link removed].


15. Honoring Our Hometown Heroes.
