A report by the Interior Department’s internal watchdog found that Ryan Zinke, Trump’s former Interior Secretary, violated ethics obligations during his tenure in the department.

John, did you see this?

A report by the Interior Department’s internal watchdog found that Ryan Zinke, Trump’s former Interior Secretary, violated ethics obligations during his tenure in the department.

Zinke attempted to help Halliburton and other developers with creating a commercial development right next to a lot Zinke’s family nonprofit foundation controlled. His continued involvement was revealed in multiple texts and emails. And he went so far as to host meetings with Halliburton’s then-executive in his Interior Department office — while Halliburton’s activities on federal lands were under investigation.

Zinke may not have broken any conflicts of interests laws per se, but he did not comply with his obligations outlined in his ethics agreement when he assumed his position as Interior Secretary and made “inaccurate and incomplete statements” surrounding his involvement with the nonprofit foundation and its property development plans.

We wish we’d never have to deal with Zinke again. But now, Zinke is campaigning to return to the House to represent Montana’s 1st Congressional District. Between his disastrous anti-environment record and unethical behavior, we don’t need Ryan Zinke in Congress.

John, we know what to expect of Ryan Zinke. He’s not interested in representing hardworking Montanans. His only interest is to continue using federal office to promote the interests of his developer friends and his own financial gain.

We can’t let Ryan Zinke return to Congress. Instead, we need to raise money to elect environmental champions and oppose Zinke and candidates like him. Will you rush a donation today?
