Friend – I hate to sound over-the-top, but I need your help.
My friend Steve Daines is up for re-election next year and his race could be one of the closest in the nation. Let me give you the good and bad news, Friend. Here's the good news first... President Trump won Montana by large margins in 2016, and I know with your support both President Trump AND Senator Daines will win Montana again in 2020. I know Steve Daines won't be outworked when it comes to running for re-election. He will work harder than his Democratic opponents, but that doesn't mean Steve will have an easy re-election campaign. So, here's bad news, Friend. Steve's likely 2020 opponent is someone who also won in Montana in 2016, too. This means we cannot take anything for granted, Friend! If Steve Daines doesn't win in 2020, we can kiss our Senate majority goodbye. You and I both know our nation cannot afford to have the Democrats in control of both the House and the Senate. It would lead to a downward spiral of our economy and nation, and we cannot allow that to happen. So, Friend, I am personally asking you: will you join me to help Steve win in 2020 and protect our Senate majority? Since Republicans only hold a 4-seat majority in the Senate and have to defend 22 of 34 Senate elections in 2020, Steve Daines' race in Montana is going to be in the national spotlight. Steve was by my side when I faced a tough re-election in 2016, so that's why I am sticking by him now!
