Madison Cawthorn has shown again and again that he does not care about the people or values of Western North Carolina and instead is using the office as a launchpad to garner national attention and notoriety.

After district-shopping during the last round of redistricting, he is coming back to Western North Carolina to continue to try to spread his brand of dangerous extremism. What district he does it from is incidental for him.

Cawthorn has shown a callous disregard for the serious challenges facing our communities. Our rural health care system is under strain and many of our families can’t afford or don’t have access to quality affordable care. The pandemic has highlighted the need for universal pre-K and affordable childcare. And the need to attract good, family-supporting jobs here continues.

The contrast between Jasmine and Cawthorn couldn’t be clearer. Jasmine’s faith has taught her that we have a deep responsibility to look out for our neighbors. Meanwhile, Cawthorn has bragged that he built his office around communications, not policy work and constituency service.
