John,
Tomorrow marks the start of Women’s History
Month and we’re looking forward to a month filled with exciting events
honoring the progress we’ve made, and educating on the challenges we still
face.
We know that right now some of these challenges feel enormous and bleak.
We can give in to the malaise and doom-scrolling, or we can unite to learn
and grow! You can beat the blues with bell by joining our Women’s March
Book Read featuring bell hooks’ seminal feminist primer, Feminism Is For
Everybody.
bell hooks was a groundbreaking Black feminist thinker and writer, who
passed away in December. To honor her legacy and celebrate Women’s History
Month, we’re dedicating our Book Read to her trailblazing book, Feminism
Is For Everybody. Together, we’ll explore the themes of race, class,
power, and gender; and talk about why building a mass, anti-racist
movement is critical to our feminist future.
We’ll kick off our Book Read on Tuesday, March 8th at 8 PM EST by
introducing the themes and structure for our book read. We’ll wrap with a
grand finale on Tuesday, April 5th with some great speakers and discussion
of our themes. Space is limited, and we’re hoping you’ll join us.
