John —
Right now there’s a Grand Canyon sized gap in the priorities between Democrats and Republicans in the Senate.
Here are the Republican priorities:
- Raise taxes on seniors, the disabled, and the poorest Americans
- Close the Department of Education
- Build a wall between the U.S. and Mexico and name it after Donald Trump
- Ban ballot drop boxes and throw out votes that are delayed in the mail
- Ban abortion, period.
Here are the Democrats priorities:
- Make those at the top pay their fair share
- Lower the cost of health care, prescription drugs, and elder care
- Protect the right to vote for all Americans
- Tackle the existential threat of climate change
- Defend Roe v. Wade and access to abortion
As you can see, our priorities couldn’t be farther apart. While Republicans want to make it harder to vote, Democrats are fighting to make it easier. While Republicans are STILL stuck on building Trump’s wall, Democrats are focused on lowering the cost of health care and prescription drugs.
The stark differences here clearly underscore the need to keep Democrats in the majority. Doing that is going to take a lot of work from this team, which is why we have to ask:
If you are able, will you chip in $10 to help power our grassroots work of Defend the Senate? Together we can help defend and expand our Democratic Senate majority.
