Recent polls show that at least 83% of Americans support the U.S. government negotiating with pharmaceutical companies to lower drug prices. If you’re in that 83%, please consider adding your name to our petition demanding that Congress hold Big Pharma accountable and lower prescription drug costs.
With a clear majority of Americans supporting lowering drug prices, why is it so hard to turn this hugely popular policy into law?
The short answer: Big Pharma is one of the most powerful lobbies in Washington. And with Democrats’ razor-thin majorities, Big Pharma needs only a few Democrats on their payroll in order to stop every good bill trying to fix our broken system.
This isn’t a conspiracy. Just look at how much Big Pharma has spent lobbying Congress this year alone.
Since launching our first campaign for Congress, Ro’s refused to take a single penny from PACs or lobbyists. That’s why we’re at the forefront of the fight for drug pricing reform and other popular progressive policies. But we need your help to take on Big Pharma’s hundreds of millions of dollars in political spending.
Big Pharma spends more on lobbying than any other sector. And it’s paying off. (For them). These companies continue to rake in massive profits, even as 18 million Americans report being unable to afford a prescription medication.
This Democratic-controlled Congress has a mandate from the American people to lower prescription drug prices — and right now we have a chance to pass this policy by including it in the Build Back Better plan. We can’t let special interests win.
We’ll keep holding the line in Congress, and fighting to put working peoples’ interests ahead of corporate profits. If you’re on board, please add your name to our petition today.
Thank you for being a part of this fight.
