John,
A lot of politicians run for office for money, power, or fame. That’s not me.
I was raised by a single mother who worked twice as hard to make sure we had dinner on the table every night. I grew up outside Youngstown where I watched steel mills close and jobs ship overseas that devastated my family members, friends, and neighbors.
I first ran for office because I didn’t see many people in power sticking up for families like mine. All they ever cared about was pleasing wealthy donors and shady special interests who wrote them campaign checks.
That’s why we do things a little differently around here. We rely on grassroots supporters like you chipping in $20 or $30 at a time to fuel this campaign. But right now, we’re falling behind our fundraising goal.
Can you make a contribution today -- split between my campaign and CommonGood -- to help us reach our fundraising goal? I wouldn’t ask if it didn't make a difference. [[link removed]]
