First, the bad news, friend:
We fell $84,723 short of our Ground Game Fund goal last night. As I write this, we’re going back to the drawing board on strategy.
But there’s some good news, too: I just got word that we don’t have to make any decisions about changes to our strategy until I step on the debate stage Wednesday night. So that gives us an extension to reach this goal and fully put our Ground Game Fund into action. I know a little something about come-from-behind victories -- if you want to see it happen for us, will you rush a donation right now?
The truth is if we fail to qualify for the December debate, our best avenue to reach the millions of undecided voters in this race will be cut off, and we’ll be at a real disadvantage next month.
I won’t sugar coat anything. We’re facing an uphill fight to earn a spot in that debate. Every day, we’re closing in on the donor threshold, and I believe we will get there. In doing so, we’ll tell an incredible, humbling story about how many Americans believe in this grassroots campaign. But we still need a handful of polls to show just a slight uptick in momentum.
It’s going to come down to the wire. We have a plan to pull it off, but it simply won’t happen without this Ground Game Fund.
I believe so strongly in this team -- every step of the way, you’ve earned my faith. I’m reaching out today to ask you one more time to put your faith in me and what we’re building together. Before I step on the debate stage, if you can, please chip in to help reach our goal.
Your support is something I won’t ever forget -- thank you.
