SIGN THE PETITION TO THE U.S. Senate:
Confirm Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson, President Biden’s new Supreme Court nominee, without delay.
|
Friend,
President Biden has nominated Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson to serve on the Supreme Court, who would make history as the first Black woman on the bench.
It’s so important for our political and legal institutions to reflect the country in which we live. For hundreds of years, the vast majority of people in political institutions have been white men.
Out of 115 people who’ve been confirmed as Supreme Court justices, 112 were white, and 110 were men. But the Supreme Court routinely rules on cases that disproportionately impact Black women—such as voting rights, abortion access, prisons and policing, housing, and LGBTQ+ rights.
Judge Jackson is, of course, highly qualified, and her career demonstrates her dedication to equal justice for all. In addition to her rulings, her very presence on the Supreme Court would help Black girls be able to see themselves as legal leaders.
Let’s celebrate Women’s History Month by confirming Judge Jackson as soon as possible—and ensuring more equal representation in our country’s highest court.

Judge Jackson is eminently qualified to serve on the Supreme Court.
She has served on the federal bench for over nine years—first the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, and then the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit, largely seen as the second most powerful court in the country.
Judge Jackson has also served as a federal public defender, as well as the vice chair of the Sentencing Commission, where she worked to reduce sentences for individuals incarcerated for drug offenses.
During her career prior to and then while serving on the federal bench, she has shown that she is committed to equal justice and civil rights. And she has been confirmed three times by the Senate—twice unanimously, and all with bipartisan support.
There is no reason for a “no” vote or delays of any kind, but Republicans could try to block or delay her confirmation.
Will you join me in demanding that the Senate confirm Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson without delay? Add your name now.
Thank you for all you do,
Rashida
