Join us to Stand for a Livable Climate
Every Friday, 12 - 1 pm
Zeidler Park ([link removed]) across from We Energies ([link removed])
at 4th & Michigan Ave. & along Michigan Ave.

350 Milwaukee ([link removed]) is joining with students and young climate activists Fridays at noon to demand that We Energies take strong and immediate action to convert to solar/wind renewable energy sources and leave the fossil fuels in the ground. Stand for a Livable Climate is an ongoing campaign leading up to the International Climate Strike on Friday, September 20.

WEC's (We Energies parent) president and CEO, Kevin Fletcher, has seen our protests and he's responded to a letter Julie Enslow delivered to the front desk at We Energies. Stay tuned.

Join us and help make an IMPACT!

If you support solar panel adoption on residential and business properties, join us to protest We Energies proposal to the PSC for a monthly solar surcharge "tax" ([link removed]) on private solar panels and increased monthly fixed fees. We [link removed] should be making it easier, not more difficult and costly, for individuals and the city of Milwaukee to go solar.

We use the public sidewalk and we will not be disruptive nor impede their employees or passers-by in any way.

Our 350 banner and signs will be available for participants. We'll have flyers to distribute to interested passers-by who would like one. Please feel free to bring your own sign expressing your We Energies sentiments.

A little before 1:00 we meet in Zeidler Park to plan for the next week's Stand for a Livable Climate protest. Stand for a Livable Climate is a continuing, nonviolent, direct-action campaign to educate the public and our representative government to affect We Energies policies.

SAVE THE DATE!
350 Milwaukee is planning an action for September 20th

If you’ve been inspired by the school strikers, but you’re not sure how you can take action as an ally, read on for 3 meaningful ways you can show your support:

1. Join the Global Climate Strikes
School strikers are calling on ([link removed]) everyone ([link removed]) : young people, parents, workers, and all concerned citizens to join massive climate strikes and a week of actions starting on September 20.
2. Spread the word
It’s as simple as it sounds. Talk to everyone you know – young or grown-up – about the climate strikes, about what they’ve achieved already; and our role in supporting young people. Share with them your own reasons for wanting to see urgent climate action. Tell them about Greta’s message of climate emergency ([link removed]) , or, even better, show them one of her powerful speeches.
3. Organize your community
Activate your own network (yes, you have one!) in support of the climate strikes. Think of the organizations, clubs or faith groups you belong to. Maybe you’re in a parents group, or a book club? Talk about the climate strikes at your next meeting; take to social media and share a public statement of support. Organize others for solidarity actions and events.

------------------------------------------------------------

Future Local Actions being explored:
1. "Putting Climate Front and Center in the 2020 Election” - organize to show up at candidate events with questions and signs
2. Local actions targeting banks that support the fossil fuel industry

Do any of these interest you?
Let us know if you have ideas and/or want to get involved!
Contact Julie Enslow or Greg Walter at the meeting, or email: 350 Milwaukee (mailto:[email protected]?subject=350%20Milwaukee%20Actions)
